CocoHope HOPE Ambassador

Description:  

In partnership with HOPE, an impact organisation in the Philippines, the CocoHOPE 10,000 coconut tree project aims to directly support smallholder coconut farmers and promote carbon sequestration to help limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C. The project wanted to protect a coconut farming industry suffering from senile coconut trees and rising costs. Approximately 1/3rd of the country relies on coconuts in some form for their income as well – so getting students to raise funds for these farmers around the world was a no-brainer.

HOPE ambassadors are students who run and encourage other students in their school to run fundraisers in the name of HOPE. More about the requirements can be found here.

• The CocoHOPE project lasts from September 15, 2025 to June 30th, 2026

• Each HOPE ambassador has a minimum requirement of 250 trees fundraised, but a goal of 500

• Each tree costs 80 PHP, or around 1.38 USD

• The CocoHOPE project will take a maximum of 40-50 schools

• HOPE ambassadors will receive certificates for their work and contributions, especially valuable for university applications

The project plans to empower students by allowing them to work directly with one of the largest NGOs in the Philippines, Generation HOPE PH. HOPE has already planted 2 million trees, which have the potential to absorb 834,000 tonnes of CO₂ during their lifetimes. The project has already caught the interest of students from 20 schools in 4 different continents, and we are looking for more schools to join.
